Sarah Freel Photography bio picture

Welcome

Welcome to the Sarah Freel Photography Blog. I am a photographer located in Braintree, Massachusetts. Offering both on location and (soon) studio sessions. I have always loved working with young children. I have many years of experience teaching and hold a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have this love of working with children and mingled it with my love of photography. It's the perfect balance! Who can say they have found their dream job? I certainly can! So please, pull up a chair, and poor yourself a warm (or cool!) beverage and enjoy the many beautiful images I have captured and shared with you all here. I'll sneak in a special or two here and there. Maybe even a bit about me and my beautiful family. Enjoy!

Lily and her brothers

We photographed Lily and her brothers last weekend.  One of the brothers had a broken leg and I wanted to be sure he was as comfortable as he could be.  He did a great job (I never thought he’s make up the stairs to my home!)!  What a beautiful family!

My little ones!

I don’t share them often enough…or should I say I don’t photograph them often enough!  My children, Meghan and Stephen.  It was time for the annual holiday portraits, to be given as gifts to my family.

Stephen tends to be very silly in front of the camera.  Actually he couldn’t stop giggling the entire time.  I love this little boy!  Meghan is sweet and loves the camera.  She had her ideas for all sorts of poses.

The group shot is the photo to be shared with family.  The others are just for fun, or for me!

Holiday Mini Sessions - The Last Hurrah!

Here it is…the last of the holiday sessions.  Not only are the children beautiful (as they all are on this street…there must be something in the water!) but look at Jake, their sweet puppy!  Picture perfect ;)

thanks to all of my friends/neighbors that gave me the fun opportunity to photograph all of their beautiful children (and pups!)!   I wish you all a safe and happy holidays!

Holiday Mini Sessions…part three

I could have photographed her all day…

I usually don’t tint photos, but this one was just calling for it:

Lena…you’re next!

Holiday Mini Sessions - Take Two!

More from the previous post :)

I know that he’s making a silly face…but these other two look so darn cute that I couldn’t not show this one.

Up next:  Cathy!

Holiday Mini Sessions

As a gift to all of my neighbors I offered complimentary mini sessions for their children this past weekend.

I had such a great time!  It was fun to photograph all of the cuties that I have come to know over the past 8 years that I have lived on this terrific street!

I am still in the process of editing but as I have them ready I will post.  Jenn, your are the first!  Enjoy!

Rahila, you are next!

A little ray of sunshine

Sweet little Sebastian has got to be the cutest little boy ever.  Those lashes, I just couldn’t stop commenting on how amazing they were!

Over two years ago I photographed Sebastian’s Mommy and Daddy’s wedding in Mystic CT on 7/7/7 (lucky 7’s!).  I was beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to not only meet but photograph their darling little boy!

I arrived to their home and was so sad to hear that little S was under the weather…he had just woken from his nap with a fever and just wasn’t himself.  We decided to go forward with the session and see how he does.  I’m quite pleased with how the photographs come out.

Dad had mentioned that S is such a little ray of sunshine all the time…smiling all the time and such a happy little boy!

This is Peter

This past weekend, on Halloween, I photographed this cute little guy!  Peter is 9 months old and very active!
Dad mentioned he climbed the stairs the other day and I don’t doubt it for a moment.  Speaking of Dad, I must say thanks for all of his help during the session moving furniture, dumping out toy boxes (which made a great prop…or container to hold Peter still for a few moments!).  Kidding aside, Peter was such a sweet little boy and I really enjoyed meeting this wonderful family!

Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Little Miss Dylan Grace

Three months old is such a sweet age.   Little Dylan Grace is three months old and sweet as can be.   She showed me a few little smiles and is the apple of Mommy and Daddy’s eyes.  I really enjoyed coming to their home in Boston to photograph this little sweetheart!

Bode turns 5!

I love every early October because it means I get to drive up north to photograph Bode!  I have photographed Bode every October over the last three years, or is it four?  It’s always such a great session.  We (Mom and I) let Bode walk around their yard with all of the wonderful autumn colors (they live in a beautiful antique home).  I love hearing about his birthday and his new favorite gifts (a bike this year!).  We had the pleasure of meeting their sweet neighbor to take a few shots in her yard.  Bode enjoyed feeding her goldfish in the pond and strolling amongst the many gardens (Bode wants to be a farmer when he grows up!).  I’m looking forward to doing it again next year!
